    Anvil fermenter at half price

Anvil has a sale on now--5 gallon fermenter is half off at $49.00. Anyone have experience using these? I currently ferment in a Corney with a floating diptube and like it in general for c. 4 1/2 -5(ish) gallon batches but at about 50 bucks the anvil might be a bit easier to clean. Thoughts? Thanks!

    Kegland fermenter?

I currently ferment in a Corny keg . I see that Anvil has the 5 gallon fermenter king junior on sale half off at $45.00. Anyone have any experience with this? See any advantages, other than being able to see what's going on? At that price point, I admit I am tempted.

    Recirculation effect on mash temperature

I brew on an all-in-one (Anvil 6.5), I have read about uneven mash temps, with the actual temperature lower than what is desired. Is this still the case when recirculating continuously during the mash? Seems like it shouild even out the mash temp, making it more homogeneous, at least in theory...

    Oats-rolled vs. malted?

When making oat stout I have always used quaker oats from the grocery. I am thinking about using malted oats next time. Should I expect any qualitative difference in the end result? Oat malt costs slightly more, but not enough to make a difference if there is an improvement in the end product.

    Anvil Spigot thread type?

I have an Anvil Foundry 6.5 and want to add camlock fittings to my hoses. I assumed that the valve thread was 1/2 inch NPT, but apparently not, as the fitting will only screw on to the valve maybe one full turn. Suggestions? Is the valve fitting metric? If so, is there an adapter or workaround?

multiple lovibond levels in one brew

I have seen recipes with crystal malts of different lovibond levels, like 8 oz. of 40 L and 8 oz. of 80L. What purpose/result? Is there a reason one would not just use 16 oz. of 60 L?

    OK I'm an idiot

Brew day going great--loving my new Anvil Foundry. Hit all the right numbers in the mash, boil went perfectly then it all came off the rails. Trying new procedures--ferment in a corny, using fermentation co2 to push a keg full of starsan to purge the keg. (LODO and all that) Connected the LIQUID...
