    Fermonster size

Looking at some new fermenters as my buckets got lacto and I don’t want to use glass. Pretty much decided on Fermonster because it’s cheap and has a system and easy mods. Trying to decide what size. I do 3g batches but I’m planning on going Kviek krazy this year and maybe running on...

    Hops for pills

Sorry when I try and sneak in a thread at work I only have a few seconds didn’t catch my mistake lol

    Hops for pills

Just the opening stages of it all but thinking of doing a Pilsner-ish type beer. Maybe with American fruity hops to make it a little more…. Fun? El Dorado, Citra type of stuff. Basically anything not Nobel or English haha. Suggestions? Would this be tasty? Grist is likely all pils or...

    Possible PET Oxebar setup

It looks a little loud but I like it lol. How many kegs are you running on that one sodastream? I didnt catch if this is force or natural carbing?

    Possible PET Oxebar setup

I’ve been seeing some great stuff about the Oxebar PET kegs. I’ve never been able to keg because start up cost have been a barrier at least for SWMBO but even if I did just take an OT shift to address that space has always been my white whale. However these apparently can fit in the fridge...

    Stout recipe

OG is 1.064 so it was more of an insurance policy. Def taking the carafa or chocolate roast into consideration. I’m glad I’m close to the right track

    T58 needs more love

That just makes me want to make a delicious beer with T58 and fuggles

    T58 needs more love

This was the other time I used t-58 in that exact kit. It’s a very good kit. I added a couple extra pounds of 2 row and a can of pumpkin to make it a pumpkin saison. Unfortunately no pic of that one but it was kind of this brilliant orange color. I loved it. I’m still kind of intermediate...

    T58 needs more love

Don’t mind the mess or daipers for my friend’s baby shower. But my wit. It’s pretty good I’m super happy with it.

    T58 needs more love

I went with 68. They’ve kind of faded in the next few bottles and the peppery notes have kind of taken over. So maybe it’s not as bubblegum as I wanted. Still a delicious beer though so I’m not worried.

    Altbier

We’re both poor and I have a family that has to grow up first lol. Yeah I know we got a long way to go. But it’s the dream that keeps ya going in dead end crap jobs.

    Altbier

Brewfather has it at 31. As far as the Munich and veinna go I was actually aiming for that. At least here in the US Altbier is about as common a good plate or tacos in Central Europe…. I’m sure it’s somewhere but good luck finding it. So many of us have been lead to believe it’s like a Marzen...

    Altbier

Well at least everyone seems to be in agreement the beer looks delicious haha. It’s still a couple weeks before I brew but I take it I’ll drop the c10 and probably the kviek. Originally the Kviek was intended as a short cut as I went months without brewing until recently I’ve been in a tear...

    Altbier

@Protos to answer your question earlier about why there’s always a bastardization of German beers. At least here in America, there’s a tendency for better or worse to kind of shun tradition. Like why CAN’T I make a malt forward ale with a clean yeast? Saaz, Spalt, Tettnag…. They’re all German...

    Altbier

This was meant to be a little tongue and cheek in preparation for the ensuing flame war that comes after any posted recipe on homebrew talk.

    Altbier

Zero bytes? Maybe I’m off my rocker but Munich and Pilsner are what traditionally make up an Alt right? Saaz from my research was pretty on target I thought. I’m confused as to how other than the Kviek I’m all that far off.

    Altbier

Looking for opinions on an upcoming Altbier I want to brew Using Brewfather to design 4 gallons into fermenter after all said and done. 33.1 % pils 32.1% Munich 22.1% Vienna because why not? 6.2% caramunich iii 4.1% caramel 10 because I have it on hand and think it’s fun to add a kiss of...

    T58 needs more love

I may have only a handful of brews under my belt in just a couple years…. But I’m going to declare t58 doesn’t get the love it deserves. This yeast is super easy to use, blast through fermentation like a bandit, and makes a tasty beer with spicy notes and bubblegum. I’ve used it twice now and...
