    Two kits, One recipe.

Alright guys, I bought two kits for fall(a pumpkin ale and autumn ale) and just didn't really get around to brewing them so I figure I could make one good beer with the ingredients I have from the kits. What do you guys think I should make? This is not a recipe but just the list of...

Getting a job at a brewery

I think they are offering you a interview for a position. Never think you have the job in the bag even if you basically do, it keeps you on your toes and wanting more.

    Post your infection

Alright, I thought for sure it was yeast rafts but they're still there after over a week of fermentation, any thoughts?

    Am I too late?

Thanks guys! Made me feel a bunch better. I planned on leaving it in primary for 3 weeks and I'll try to keep the temp decent until then. Good thing my fiancé likes fruity beers lol

    Am I too late?

I keep telling myself, "you're new to this, you'll make mistakes, just let it ride" but I can't help freaking out a little. That means I care, right? Anyways, I brewed on Sunday(extract IPA) and put it in my brew closet to ferment, ambient temperature is 72 degrees. It's start rolling less than...

    Midwest's Simply Beer IPA

Am I too late? It's already 4 days in and noticed the temperature starting to drop.

    Midwest's Simply Beer IPA

Finished the kit Sunday and it's started fermenting in less than 24 hours and still going strong. Had a couple initial problems, forgot to get OG and then tried about an hour later to my surprise was mostly water so I give the carboy a really good shake and let it do its thing. Little nervous...

    Is this normal

Yea I'm the same way, I've been a beer nerd since I could start drinking but didn't start brewing till last month and it's literally all I think about most of time. It's taken my love and respect for the craft so much further. I agree, it's a lot of cleaning and waiting(and drinking) but with...

    Something is not right..

Thanks for the help guys, it's been less than 24 hours and fermentation is rapidly going. I feel oh so noobish lol

    Something is not right..

Yea hopefully the second shake got it better, it at least looks better lol. I guess I didn't fill it exactly per the instructions. I bought two 2.5 gallon water jugs so I know there is 5 gallons(maybe a little lost in boil). Oh well just let it go and see what happens!

    Something is not right..

Hey guys, I just finished extract brewing Midwest supplies "Beer. Simply beer. IPA" and for the most part everything went okay except a couple things. I forgot to get a OG reading before pitching the yeast. After reading through the forums I decided to try anyways and to get a reading and came...

Brewers Best American Pale Ale Kit - Please share your experience!

Like many others it was my first brew and currently only brew. It's going through it's first week of fermentation and today I did a gravity reading and it's spot on with the directions. I tasted the beer and it had a slight off flavor, not infected just...off. So I'm gonna let it sit longer so...

    Midwest's Simply Beer IPA

Definitely getting this kit for my second brew, I wanted to make something for my birthday(October 8th) and being a IPA fan this looks perfect! I think I might add some hops when boiling and dry hop as well...in my eyes the hopper the better!

    4 gallons in a 5 gallon bucket...

Thanks guys, I was really tempted to last night but I ultimately decided not too. I made another bone headed mistake though...I saw the airlock gromount was kinda tucked in when I inserted it so I attempted to adjust it and ended up pushing it in the beer. I quickly got some stainless steel...

    4 gallons in a 5 gallon bucket...

Hey guys, Did my first brew today and it was a blast! Came up with a minor problem towards the end however... As it was time to put the wort in the fermentation bucket, I poured back and fourth between pot and bucket getting some good oxygen going. It created a good amount of foam so I stopped...
