    yea im working on getting it cooled off now lol. it was at 68 yesterday when i got it into the carboy which is what the kit said to have it at.

    i couldnt tell you what temp it is now with out taking a sample as for some reason the thermo on the side of the carboy is/not working. though it was so im guessing over 82. I had placed it in a dark cool corner of my house. lol it shot 5 feet up to hit the ceiling

    the recipe is a double choc milk stout for 5 gal i reduced it to 1 gal just to try it and so 1 pound of milk sugar for 5 gal to 3.2 oz for 1 gal.

    So I'm pretty sure my fermentation has stopped though I wish it was higher I'll accept the 5% its at. Do I have to have a bottling bucket and or want or is it possible to make do with just the auto siphon?

    OK thanks for all that support. Took a reading looks like it is fermentimg its at 2%. And its starting to smell right also has the flavor of beer. Heh

    Sunday I decided since my NFL team wasn't playing to do something constructive. So I tried a partial mash double chocolate milk stout. I'm positive I did all the steps right. Though I have not seen any bubbles in my fermenter/airlock.

    So I'm getting ready to try and do a second brew. My first one ended in utter failure. So this time instead of jumping 2 feet first off the deep end I thought I would ask. What is the easiest method for brewing? All grain or using extract? I have all the equipment needed just not the knowledge.

    Well hello to all from sin city. As a culinary student I figured if I can cook I can brew right. That being said I have yet to make a batch of beer. :)
