    Stoked

So for father's day my wife got me what i think is a 5 cuft chest freezer, a 1/2 bbl sanke and $100 from the 2 boys. Browsing our local facebook buy/sell/trade group and stumbled upon this jewel. Girl was asking $150 but we settled at $100.

    Is it possible?

Is it possible to have a beer that is as creamy as a cream soda? Something that is crisp but smooth as butter?

Places to enjoy brew in NOLA

I'm heading to New Orleans for about 4-5 days later this month for work and will be staying down on St Charles just a couple blocks from Bourbon st. I want to visit NOLA Brewing but where else are some good places to sample and enjoy a great brew?

    NEWB Hop question

When weighing out your hops, according to your recipe, is 1 oz of pellet hops equal to 1 oz of whole leaf?

    Burner help

Ok, the plan was to get a Blichmann floor burner for father's day but that's not gonna fly with the SWMBO since she is already getting me another sanke and a small chest freezer (getting dimensions tonight hopefully). So on that note i still need a burner. I'm going to start by using a keggle...

    Will this work?

Midwest Supplies has a promo where if you by a winery kit you get a free 6.5 gallon big mout bubbler. How well would this work for beer. I'm just getting started and have yet to do my first brew until i move in a few weeks. I have already acquired 3 sanke kegs and 6 pin lock 5 gal cornies. I...

    Burners

I've read plenty of reviews but want to get some opinions on the Blichman and Edelmetall burners. Father's day is coming up and this will be my gift. I'm putting together a 3 keggle system and will do some biab as well. Also, what methods of self ignition are the automated guys using?

    Where to start?

OK. I would say I'm somewhat tech savy and have even built a few computers. But, I have yet to do any programming. I'm looking into getting a RPi, BBB, or Arduino to start tinkering with and was curious as to where to start looking to learn how to right some of the code that will be necessary...

    Burner for keggle

I've been looking at the bayou classic burners and have seen a lot of guys on here using th kab4. Was curious to see if anyone had feedback on the kab6 or their dual jet burner. I think the dual jet may be a little to focused on the heat and could lead to scorching.

    HLT. Anyone try this?

I am in the process of designing a HERMS setup and was curious if anyone had used an electric heating element with a tri-clover adapter in a sanke keg that is upside down? As in cutting a hole in the bottom and the heating element sticking straight up? With the right element I could see how...

    PID controller

I'm sure this has been asked and answered before but I can't seem to find it. I am looking at converting my spare sanke 1/2 bbl keg to a fermenter and will probably go with a glycol chiller and a band heater. That being said, is there a PID controller that would controll both at the same...

    Help a brother out!

Ok, I am getting my equipment together to brew my first batch. I am most likely going to start with a few extract batches before going in to some biab and eventually having a 3 keggle herms setup. I got a steal on some straight sided 1/2 bbl kegs as well as some pin locks (2 of the 15.5 and 7...

    ready to get started

New guy here from Oklahoma until July then I'll be in Lafayette, LA. I work offshore in the oilfield and have a buddy that introduced me to his herms setup and I fell in love. Have yet to brew myself but have a very understanding wife and I'm very skillful and crafty. Made my first acquisitions...
