    Clarity after bottling

you can hardly claim being a wise-ass, if you apologize ;). along with giving a legit answer. that brings up another point. Isn't the gist of a lager that you do all your conditioning in colder temps, not just after it's done carbonating?

    Clarity after bottling

Thanks, What if I put them in the fridge which is normally a bit colder than your 57-60 degrees? I assume my fridge is generally around 47-48 degrees.

Side note: I know this isn't carbonated enough, I am simply asking about the cloudiness and/or haze

    Clarity after bottling

I am wondering if any of you have noticed your IPAs (or any beer for that matter) clearing up a significant amount if you leave it in the fridge for a long period of time. the attached picture is 2 weeks in bottles at conditioning temperature, but only 24 hours in fridge. I am thinking about...

    Boil kettle

I just came across a burner for my boil kettle. What I need to know is, do I put the boil kettle on heat while I'm sparging? I figured I would just put the BK on the stove when it was done, but won't this cause too much heat lose? Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Bottling age

Well, guys, I am impatient. I HAD to try another one. I left this one in the fridge longer and am much more pleased with the taste. Its crisp, light in body, and has great hop flavor. the head was thick and foamy, and as you can see, there is much more of it. I just wish I had put 2 in the...

    Something Different

What kind of Equipment do you use? And not the normal stuff, but like wort chillers, trub dumps and such. Do you keg your beers? These "brew Geniuses" usually have the best equipment for the job.

    Something Different

these aren't rarely talked about but: Clarity factors - whether it be Irish moss or cold crashing Hops choices - bitter / flavor and perfecting the timing These are the issues I have come across lately. I also use tap water for my brews and I get shunned for it. I feel that some things are...

    Fermenting in a whiskey barrel

I recently had a friend make whiskey, and he bought 3 one gallon whiskey barrels for his aging process. That allowed him to age for only a month due to the increase in surface area. Anyway, He gave me one of the barrels (mind you these are $100.00 barrels). I want to ferment a gallon of my next...

    Pilz

True, I was just throwing a quick question out to see. Was kind of looking for an opinion on them. peoples experience with them. Have you done one? thanks for the response though.

    Bottling age

I didn't cold crash in the carboy. I don't really have a way to, and the only way I could get it cold enough is by putting it outside in these cool days. I live in texas so it doesn't stay cold for long. Either way, I wouldn't be confident with doing that. I had the bottle in the fridge for only...

    Pilz

Looking at doing a Pilsner, but I haven't read into it too much. is there anything different about the fermenting stage? I know lagars are temperature sensitive, but are pilz too?

    Bottling age

Ya, I thought I was looking pretty good when racking to the bucket, but I must have lost focus;). I try to get absolutely every drop and I may have hit the trub at the end. It's not terribly cloudy, but I haven't had this light of a brew yet. I normally do dark beers. oatmeal stouts and such...

    Bottling age

Good afternoon Everyone, First off, I am conditioned brewer, but this is my first time on a homebrew forum. I have brewed one clone, and the rest of my brews have been my own recipe. I am no pro though. I always have a few questions that I kind of just ignore, but my curiosity has nagged...
