    Keggle vs. Small Bayou Burner

Hi everyone, I was at home depot the other day when I noticed they had the following on closeout for $37. I was planning on using the 7 gallon kettle for all grain but just today I acquired an almost brand new miller 16 gal keg that I will turn into a keggle. Would it be best to get...

    Stopping Carbonation

Dumb question here, I thought that to stop carbonation of bottles is to refrigerate them. I have had one case of my honey weizen in the fridge for at least 1 week. If I take it out will it keep carbonating? I need the room in the fridge to stop carbonation of my apfelwein. Thanks! Greg

    First timer, Gravity Question/Fermentation

Hi everyone. 9 days ago I made the Honey Weizen kit from Midwest Supplies. The OG reading I got after pouring the wort into the 3 gallons spring water was 1.055. I used the Nottingham dry yeast, after starting it in luke warm water for 15 minutes. For 9 days, I only had a tiny bit of...

    Apfelwein Fermentation question

Hello everyone. Last night, I made Ed's Apfelwein recipe down to the T, put it in the sanitized carboy, put on the airlock (filled with vodka) and set it in the closet. 24 hours later, the airlock is bubbling once to two times every second. It is really cranking and I am questioning if...

    New guy from Rochester MN

Hi Guys and Gals, I just joined yesterday because I just got a full beer kit and am ready to brew some beer! My kit came with a coopers draught, but I am going to buy a nicer kit because I don't want to wait 1 month to drink a coors light copy. haha. I look forward to learning quite a bit...
