    PVC Aeration Wand For Drill

I don't see why it would work. However, shaking is a very efficient and low cost option as well. Not to mention all the microbes and contamination possibilities hiding in your drill just waiting to fall into your beautifully fertile wort.

Mash Tun Manifold - Weighing It Down?

How do you know it floated? Can you see it under 8 lbs of grain?

    Mash Tun Agitator

You could always repurpose an old ice cream maker. I think I saw a YouTube video of one. Seemed like a good idea.

Mash Tun Manifold - Weighing It Down?

The grain will probably do a good job at holding it down

Ball valve pop during keggle test

Did you happen to run any liquid out of the valve before heating? Is there a dip tube to trap a pocket of air? Were the hoses connected while heating? Probably stupid questions. But I've done lots of stupid stuff. I have 4 conversions. I've done this before.

    Got bored. Made a keggle.

Personally, I like a bit of an over hang. It helps when trying boil 14 gallons in a 15 gallon pot.

    Got bored. Made a keggle.

Funny story. I went to buy one from lowes and couldn't find it... Either they were out of stock it I'm an idiot, both possible... To allow me to keep my fingers, I used the angle grinder to remove most of the shards and blunt the edges. Then I used a gloved hand and the 120 grit gator paper and...

    Got bored. Made a keggle.

Nothing special here, I decided to cut the top off my keg today. I used a 4.5" angle grinder with a stainless steel cutting disk. Only took one disk (~$3) to cut the top off. I used the guard resting on the rim as a guide. Two passes and 10 minutes and it was all done. Inside was a little...

Gravity effects on hop stand utilization

I looked it up. I think you are referring to a whirlpool addition, guess I haven't heard anyone use that terminology before. I set my whirlpool additions to 5 min additions in beer tools and that covers the utilization pretty well. Depending on the ambient temp you won't be converting too much...

    Is it acetaldehyde?

Are those temperatures in the 100s? I may be reading it wrong? If you ferment above 80 F your going to have a lot of phenol = band aid. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Beer gun bottling pressure question

Also, don't forget to let some beer run out of each bottle to try and push any additional O2 out... And cap fast! Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Beer gun bottling pressure question

I agree. I keg at 15 psi for bottling and about 10-12 if it's just for the kegerator. Prior to bottling I shutoff the CO2 and empty any residual pressure, then turn on the CO2 at 2-5 psi. I don't have a counter pressure filler do the low psi helps reduce foaming. Sent from my iPhone using...

How bad is cold crashing for your fermentation chamber?

I've had the same fermentation chamber for 3 yrs and it's still rocking. The freezer was about 6 years old when I got it. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Building a sparge arm with CPVC/PVC rather than copper

I use a CPVC sparge arm. No glue, just squeezed together as tight as possible. I gravity flow from the HLT to the sparge to keep it nice and slow. I mash out at the same temp I mash at, so I'm never putting water through that's hotter than 160F. Price wise, you can always redesign and make...
