    Infected?

Agree...would say no all good. Do you secondary in a carboy? I only ask because I had a couple "possible" problems. One cleared right up in secondary...they other was obvious after a few days. BTW Sanibel is our vacation spot from Naples but one heck of a week of rain in the sunshine state...

    hahaha

Crap. Visual has nothing to do with quality or taste. You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig at the end of the day.

    New use for wort chiller!!!!!

Good points....living in South Florida I have no problem dealing with pool temperature. Fermenting temps on the other hand require some attention.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

What a good day. Bad news kicked the Sierra Nevada today so I figured I would move things along. :( Keged Belgian Tripel (3 weeks secondary):mug: Caribu Slobber in secondary (11 days in primary).:rockin: Brewed Dry Irish Stout and she is in primary.

    sanitizing question

Never had any problems with the foam...just mentally because it looks like soap. I would not rinse it out post sanitation. I normally fill carboy, pour star san in and gently roll the carboy on the counter covering the entire inside with the mixture. Once sanitized I slowly pour it out. It will...

New brewer, am i doing this ok...

+1 on the 6.5 gallon buckets. Always have extra airlocks and you may have to babysit it for a few days swapping a sanitized airlock with that one. It is worth the time swapping them out...much better than blowing the top off your bucket and having to clean up.

    I'm over carboys...

I am with you there for sure. I have several buckets and several carboys. I have found that I will always use the buckets first if they are available and last resort to a carboy. Second I normally use better bottles for secondary as they are lighter/easier to clean after secondary than primary...

    Air Duster Wort Aeration

+1 on No Wiki flourocarbon or "canned air" Since gas dusters are one of the many inhalants that can be easily abused many manufacturers have added a bittering agent to deter people from inhaling the product. Because of the generic name "canned air", some people mistakenly believe that the...

    Bad a$$ floor.

Don't have a penny to measure! The Standard Hotel in NY has a floor like this. Interesting idea...wonder if it could be done as a backsplash in the brew garage?

    What NOT to do...

Had the same challenge when I put a collar on the keezer. I had the temp sensor very high on the collar so I would have cold beer at the taps (in my mind). The temp at the bottom of the keezer was so low it froze the beer at the kegs out tube. You live and learn and play with the temp probe...
