sanitizing question

just mixed star san in the carboy. lots of foam left rinsed with a little water dumped out still foam. can i siphon from the primary to the carboy with foam init? need to dry hop.

Yes, starsan is no rinse so you shouldn't have any problems,

Never had any problems with the foam...just mentally because it looks like soap. I would not rinse it out post sanitation. I normally fill carboy, pour star san in and gently roll the carboy on the counter covering the entire inside with the mixture. Once sanitized I slowly pour it out. It will still have a few bubbles but nowhere near the foam if you shake it like mad.

i just scoop it out with sanitized hands. dont rinse post sanitizing!

Always add Star San to water, never the other way around unless you like lots o' suds

If it is whole hops put them in the carboy first then rack on top of them and the foam. If you put the beer in first the foam will prevent you from adding the hops
