    Coffee Beans in secondary

    SO I have a stout that I have made a few times, last time I made it I aged it in a Balcones Barrel with Vanilla beans, this time I want to use coffee beans instead, will coffee beans in secondary lend any coffee flavors?

    Counterflow chiller - Wort speed?

    How fast should the wort go through the counter flow chiller? Should I just open up my valve all the way or should I have it barely open for a slow flow? Thanks!

    Keg question/issues

    So I had about 1 1 and a half gallons extra from my Pale ale today and I decided to spontaneously ferment it. If I want to add raspberries to it should I wait for the fermenting to happen or throw them in now?

    Small batches?

    I have beersmith set to make 5 gallon batches, or 5.5 gallon, but every time bottling time comes up I am at 4 gallons. Should I change the boil off rate? I use a propane burner and have a pretty violent boil is that the case or is this standard?
