Won't the bottle brush scratch the plastic?

So I got most of my better bottle cleaned but there is still krausen residue on upper part of the better bottle and I can't get it off. I have tried soaking with oxyclean. Any suggestions?

After cooling pour the wort directly into the fermenter with the funnel. You want it to splash to put oxygen back into the wort that was lost during boil so the yeast can thrive. This is the one time you do want to add oxygen.

I didn't even think about it not sinking, I might use cleaned/sanitized aquarium pebbles since I do not have any marbles. Will hops without a bag sink? I was going to use the bag for clarity but I guess i could always cold crash before bottling.

What is the best way to sanitize a hop bag before putting it in the fermenter for dry hoping? Should it just be soaked in star San? Also I assume it is ok to dry hop on the trub?

I have an all Amarillo IPA that is two weeks into fermentation. I got the recipe of the database but I noticed that there is no dry hoping. Has anybody brewed an all Amarillo and dry hoped it, is it recommended? I would like to avoid too much of a grapefruit flavor.

I am a newbie too and have used both buckets and just started a batch in a better bottle. I think it is worth it to use a carboy at some point so you can see what is going on during ferment, I am enjoying watching this batch.

It is my understanding that star San will basically just become food for the yeast and there is no need to rinse after applying. That same thought went through my head when I first used it.

I completely agree, it's pretty pathetic.

Oxyclean worked great for me, didn't even have to soak very long with most of them and the labels came right off!
