Blow off tube with cream ale

My cream ale went crazy and I threw an emergency blow off tube on. Put the biggest tube I had in, but did not take up all the space. Soaked some cling wrap in starsans and wrapped it up. Think that is ok?

    Burner fail

My propane burner decided last night to not want to heat well. Took forever to get to mash temps (was doing a cream ale brew in bag). Thought I could wait on it to boil, but it never got to temp. Maxed out at like 200F. Let it go for a while, about 2 hours, but no boil. New house and wife...

    Dry hop in kegs?

I have seen that some of you dry hop in kegs, do you do it with the gas on? Any problems with sediment? My pale ale needs more hops. Been on the gas now for 5 days and doing well, just not much hops to it.

    7 gal coolers for AG?

I have seen alot of people talk about the 5 gal being alittle small for bigger beers, looking at doing the 7gal and moving up from stove top brewing. Is there too much head room in the 7 gal? Loose heat? I do beers mostly with 8-14lbs of grain. Thanks, I will hang up and listen to your...

    Krausen in the airlock . . .

Made a 6 gal (instead of my normal 5gal) pale ale AG with White Labs 01. Used a starter. On day 2+ now and going like mad. Did not use blow off tube (because I have never needed to in the past) and now have krausen in the airlock. Need to worry? Do anything?

    Flamus interruptus

So making the AHS Holiday Ale yesterday, all grain Deathbrewers stove top way, when the power goes out with about 20 min left in the boil. Ended up going outside and finishing on the propane burner, but the boil died for about 10 min. Any ill effects?

Got mine from AHB with acc. kit #1. I have a kegger with a dual reg. Seems that I do not have a connect from the gas line to my reg. What size male plug into the reg do I need? Thanks guys.

    Plastic taste?

My beer out of the keg seems to have a plastic like taste to it. Not sure if it is the beer itself (seems to be) or the keg lines. I have flushed the lines a few times and washed the kegs well. Not a big taste, more like an after taste that I get sometimes, but not all.

    Force carb noob question . . .

I have read the stickys and other places, but still have a question. The cider is in the kegerator, gas is on to 30psi . . . do I leave the gas on or do I turn it off and not bleed it down to serving pressure?

    Kegerator came in today!

Have not had time to put it together tonight, but it looks great. Will have to wait until Sunday to get it going (will be in Athens for the UGA game all day tomorrow). Will send pics when I get it going.
