    So I'm working my way to AG. For now I'm going to use a 10g gatorade cooler for my MLT to do a couple of PM batches. I'm a little concerned about temp loss considering all the space that will be in there. I was thinking of cutting this thick piece of styrofoam to put in the top of the cooler...

    Krausen in airlock.

    Thanks guys for the help. I got a pic of a splattered ceiling from my buddy. He took the carboys to his house to ferment them. Oh well, live and learn. Both now have blow off tubes!

    Morning all- Quick question. I have 5g of beer fermenting in a 6.5 carboy at a friends house. He sent a pick this am that showed the krausen creeping up into the airlock and slowly coming out the top. The airlock had star san in it. Is this ok or should we go buy a blow off tube? I guess...

    Dry hopping ?

    Should i dry hop with a oz of centennial and a oz of amarillo? Or 2 oz of the same hops. Just curious how those two would go with an APA. Thanks in advance for help.

    Hop bag or just throw in?

    Greetings- Doing a full boil extract american ipa today. 4 oz total-1 oz being whole hops. Would it be better to hang a steep bag on side of kettle and throw hops in there or just dump them in to the kettle? Thanks in advance. Jeff

    So i left a smack pack in my garage since saturday afternoon. The temps have been between 50-70. I think i know the answer to this but is it destined for the garbage? Or can i salvage it. Thanks in advance. Jeff

    Centennial or Chinook to dry hop with?

    I made a red ale inspired by Rogue's Dry Hopped Red and I can't decide if I should dry hop it with Centennial or Chinook or half and half. I added Chinook at 60 min and Centennial at flame out. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    I ended up getting my hands on what I learned are called 'wine shipper cases.' Box with a Styrofoam insert that goes all around bottles. A local distributor and a good liquor store both were really helpful in getting me one. Which fit like a glove into one of my bigger suitcases. Sweet...

    Thanks for all the tips. Yeah, I'm flying. Prolly should have included that in orig thread. Looks like bubble wrap and clothing inside the suitcase will be choice. I'll check out that brewery in Hood River.

    Hello all- I'm going to Portland, OR for vaca and I'd like to bring back some of the local beverages. I was curious if anyone had any tips for getting it home. I'm debating between putting it in its own box with bubble wrap or stuffing it in with my clothes. Thanks for any input.

    So I've dry hopped a brown ipa with 2 oz centennial hop pellet for the last 7 days. I just threw them in. My question is. Would it make sense, when I rack to the bottling bucket, to put some cheese cloth or a couple of those steeping bags over the tube to filter out some of the hop matter...

    First time using star san

    So everything i've heard says the foam is fine and it won't affect the taste of the beer etc. But, can there be too much foam? Trying to rack to my 2ndary and there is a lot of foam and I've waited 15 min. Thanks for help.
