    First Original Recipe - Advice

Gents, I'm doing my first original recipe (a 5 gallon IPA). I'm looking for a juicy, dank, hoppy tasting beer with slight bitterness similar to Trillium: Congress Street or Cellarmaker: Permanent Daylight. I'm looking for either validation or advice to make this recipe better: Grain...

    IPA Still Fermenting? Advice?

Gents, I've had this IPA fermenting for 10 days now. Originally the fermentation took off and I figured it would be a 3-5 day process. Anticipating the fermentation coming to an end after I reached the FG for the recipe I used and the Krausen dissipating I dry hopped yesterday. The damn...

Gents, What, if any effect does cold crashing have on bottling. My biggest fear is that the dormant yeast in suspension will fall to the yeast bed and I won't have enough yeast bottled to obtain proper carbonation. Can anyone make me feel better about this?

    Testing Final Gravity

Does everyone recommend trashing the beer from your primary used to test FG? Also, I've still got a half inch of krausen and some airlock activity after seven days on this IPA. Is it worth even testing the FG yet?

Fermentation Time, Yeast Autolysis and Trub

Gents, Thanks for taking the time to read/respond to my post. I'm a relatively new home brewer and I'm doing my first IPA. I've read a lot of competing opinions on the proper length of time in the primary taking into consideration yeast autolysis and opinions that letting your beer sit on the...
