Added hops during steeping instead of boiling

In the middle of brewing a Japanese rice lager and the directions were so bad that I accidentally added my 1/2 ounce of chinook hops during the 60 min steeping instead of the beginning of my 60 minute boil. How’s this going to affect the taste of my beer. I hate the taste of hops could this...

    Coors Light Brewing process

I found this article very interesting and just as I remember the brewery tour guides pitch at the Golden Colorado Brewery on many occasions in the “olden days”! Back then after the tour the beer in the tasting room was FREE, it came in 10 oz glass and was all you could drink! Back in those...

How to Back sweet a bitter stout

That’s why I decided to brew my own beer because many of the steps available to meet or bitter. So as a principal, I don’t like bitterness, in humanity or my brew. Haha I’m thinking of dividing a pound of lactose among my 40 to 48 bottles of beer at bottling time.

Can I transfer wort 24 hrs after putting it into a fermenter?

I added my wort + yeast 20 hours ago but discovered the lid didn't screw on my carboy so I jammed it on. I haven't seen any bubbles yet and I suspect the co2 is leaving around the threads that are not sealing. Can I rack this brew into a new carboy that I know does seal?

    Starter FAIL, Why?

I tried to pioneer a new starter. I had new new packs of Imperial Yeast and as I was boiling my water I was shocked to see my bags had partially froze in the bottom of my frig. I cancelled brewday and tried to make a yeast starter or in my case a Yeast resurrecter. Didn't have the Dried malt...

Wyoming Brewing along the 43 Degrees North Logitude

I Live along the Snake River that flows from Yellowstone National Park and Teton National Park. I'm a lover of heavy milk stouts that you can cut with a knife on the cold nights of western Wyoming (just about every night of the year!). Also I enjoy Coors Light on hot summer days but I will be...
