BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Thanks @oakbarn Any Amazon suggestions for conduit? This type of thing work for the plattic? I have 10 ball valves so figure I will run two conduits. One between HLT and MT and the other between MT and BK with 5 each. 1/2" probably big enough for 5 two wire cables? What metal conduit...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I have a mess of wires coming from my brew rig to my uniflex v2 system. 2 elements, 3 probes, 2 pumps, 10 automatic ball valves, 1 proportional ball valve, 1 volume sensor, 1 float switch, 1 24v external power, the 30a power to uniflex, the 15-P plug to uniflex. That's 23 wired devices. Any...

    BruControl Uniflex v2: Adding Devices

Pete, one more possible issue in documentation.... On the port mapping sheet (page 15), pin 20 is said to map to N/A. On the pin sheet (page 20), pin 20 is said to map to port 3.

    BruControl Uniflex v2: Adding Devices

Temp probes: from the instructions it seems that one should pick ports in the 200's. I picked the first 3 ports: 200, 201, 202. At first, I did not realize that "sensor index" was a thing so I left the default. All three were reading the same temp. After some testing, I figured out which...

    BruControl Uniflex v2: Adding Devices

I have two pumps, three 1-wire temp probes, and two 5500 watt elements that plug into the uniflex directly. I have 9 digital ball valves, 1 proportional ball valve, 1 volume sensor, 1 float switch, 1 external 24v power source that all need to be wired into the 24 pin connector. I wired...

    BruControl Uniflex v2: Adding Devices

@RonBurgundy10 started a great thread about his Uniflex set-up. Since the v2 has some subtle differences, I thought folks might be able to learn from both threads, but also keep them mentally separate for the few differences. I was missing the antenna and @BrunDog puts out a lot of warnings...

    BruControl Uniflex: Automation For All

Update on the Amazon item that seemed to be an in-the-pinch option for BobbyM compression adapter..... was NOT 1/4" ID. I had to drill out the center with a a series of increasing sized bits to get to 1/4" ID so that the probe fits. Have not tried with fluids yet, but I am assuming the...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

The volume sensor that I just received from BruControl has 4 wires Red Blue Black Silver (metal w/no cover) Thoughts on what each wire is? How to wire to Uniflex v2?

    BruControl Uniflex: Automation For All

Agreed. Certainly don't need 100, but this should cover that: Swan

    BruControl Uniflex: Automation For All

I also suggest @Bobby_M at brewhardware But, if you need before he has in stock or you don't need other stuff to make the shipping cost worth it, then these on Amazon should work Swan

    Resistors for volume sensos

Gotcha. Looks like I ordered 1/2w. Ordered another set of 1/4w and will return the 1/2's. Beauty of Amazon. Thanks for the help. Will have the divider circuit ready for when the volume sensor gets here.

are 1watt ones ok for this application?

    Resistors for volume sensos

Thanks @staffordj I am sending my 24v PS through a terminal block that goes to pins 2, 3, and 14 on the uniflex v2 and also to the proportional valve. Is it OK to have another slot in that terminal block going to the pressure sensor? OK to be splitting the power source among all these...

    Resistors for volume sensos

I have purchased one of @BrunDog volume sensors. Per his warning, it puts out 5v and the Uniflex input wants max 3.3v. So, I need a little volt divider circuit that will include a 1kohm resistor and a 2kohm resistor. Apparently these things come in 1/4 watt, 1/2 watt, 1 watt versions...

    Uniflex v2 wiring

We all know the awesomeness of @BrunDog Here is yet another data point...... I am a willing-to-learn, but very novice DIYer. I love the idea of putting together my own system instead of just punting to picobrew or the like. But, there was no way that I was going to be able to climb the...

    TC tee inner diameter

    TC tee inner diameter

I am going to be connecting from a vessel's TC port to a TC tee and then from the other two sides of the Tee to TC's with 5/8" barbs for 1/2" hosing. Does it matter what the ID (inner diameter) on the TC tee is as long as it is at least 5/8" (or probably 3/4" since the ID of the barb is...

    Pump to metal table

I have a stainless table with a slightly recessed stainless undershelf. I am planning to screw the pumps to the bottom shelf with the heads pointing out. Attach the valves and QD's etc........ I am pretty inexperieneced at all things DIY. Will I need some sort of dampening layer between...
