Will filling bottles from keg = bottle bombs?

Could I rack into my keg today (or tomorrow), start carbing it, than add the sorbate later when I have time to get it from LHBS?

Will filling bottles from keg = bottle bombs?

My cider is almost ready for kegging. I am crashing it right now as it is super cold outside. I wasn't planning on adding any potassium sorbate or campden as my wife wants a "natural" cider. Once the crash is finished, I was going to rack and back sweeten. My question/concern is with...

    120V or 240V??

I am going to return this one because of the zinc issue. I figure I already ingest enough poison that when I can mitigate, I should. Off to go find a 1" lock nut somewhere...

    120V or 240V??

What if I found a non zinc plated? I seriously could not find anything locally that is open this weekend. I was hoping to have this built for Monday's brew. Does the flange actually touch the water? I figure if I find one safe for a water heater, it should be safe for the brew...I mean, you do...

    120V or 240V??

Any reason I couldn't mount or have welded the universal mount below? I can't find a 1" lock nut locally but the Ace store had these. The one I got is slightly curved for the body of a water heater tank.

    120V or 240V??

That is pretty slick! I've also heard people having issues with full boils at 2K watts but that's awesome you can do it. We'll see this weekend once I get all of my parts together.

    120V or 240V??

Well confirmed, spa panel looks like it should work. I doubt the wifey will let me yank it off the house to make a "portable" disconnect. Still need to do more research. The Midwest Electric Spa Panel from HD seems to be the popular choice. If I am using it for 120V and plugging it into a 15A...

    120V or 240V??

I realized I didn't answer the GFCI question. I need to discuss this with my father when he gets back but the previous owner of my house had left everything intact from the spa panel. If it all checks out, that will serve as the GFCI (correct??) For the garage, I'll ask him his best practice on...

    120V or 240V??

I totally could be wrong as I am trying to research from my phone and have read hundreds of posts, but I thought the conversion from 240V to 120V isn't half (5500 / 2 = 2750) it is a quarter (5500 / 4 = 1350). So actually build it out for 240v but plug into 120v? That's pretty darn smart...

    120V or 240V??

I am brewing this Monday and was hoping to have my e-keggle ready. I'm nearly there but am at a crossroads on options. My father (a licensed electrician) is wiring a 240V outlet in my garage but not for another few weeks. My house used to have a hot tub out back so there's 240V going out...

First time brew on my own

I haven't but I did a quick Google search. What flavor profile are you going for? If you give us what you are wanting, I think we can help you ;)

    New brewer and first beer

This. The guys I brew with are 50/50 split on gelatin but I've seen the snot issue come up way too many times. Cold crash Friday night, rack into a keg on Sunday morning, and force carb while shaking it. Make sure that keg is cold to start with. Purge and serve.

    sealed lme shelf life

From my research, you should be fine. Open and see if there is any mold on the top. If it was sealed, it should be ok. Next time, throw it in the fridge.

    All Citra IPA

There's a local brewery that did an all Citra and all I could taste was rotten grapefruit. Second batch they had was much milder and the rotten taste was gone. They said they had to retool the recipe a bit.

    Storing bulk LME

I wish I had the room for 20 gallons. Brrr clone calls for 14 lbs of grain. LME equivalent is a little under 11 lbs. I have two other recipes that call for around 10 lbs.

    Storing bulk LME

Hi Everyone, I read a few posts about storing LME but had a specific question about my scenario. A new LHBS started offering bulk LME out of a container. I was the first guinea pig and asked for 30 lbs. long story short, I ended up with 45 lbs. I am going to transfer to a 5 gallon bucket...

    Force carb small batch??

Those carb caps look like exactly what I want. So I just fill, cap, carb at 30 psi and shake for a few minutes?

    Force carb small batch??

I found my old Mr. Beer fermenter (2.5 gallons) and was considering making some test batches. I personally do not like bottling my beers. Has anyone found a good way to force carb a small batch short of buying another corny and filling it half way?

    checking gravity help

You'll have a blanket of CO2 over the top and with CO2 being heavier than oxygen, you shouldn't have any problems.

    7 Gallon Aqua Container Questions

In my search on this board, I've found a few posts about using the 7 gallon aqua container from Wal-Mart/Amazon but had some more questions. 1) The lid comes with a spigot that I could probably use to rack into my corny. Will tipping the container to get the liquid out of the spigot stir up all...
