    dead yeast?

Ok so here is the situation. Brewed an all-grain Surly Bender clone pitched yeast 38 hours ago. I finally see the airlock bubble every 40-60 seconds however there is no krosen. Should I re-pitch? I saw no airlock movement at 30 hours. I mashed at 151. I pitched at 68 and the ferment is...

    Moving Fermenter before bottling

So with the new set up I'm planning on this.... 1. Boil up on the main floor kitchen. 2. Take fermenter down to very nasty basement. 3. Bring fermenter back upstairs to put into a secondary(when needed) 4. Bring fermenter back upstairs to bottle I don't want to bottle or anything down in...

    Damp Nasty Basement

I don't have a certain one I use or anything like that. I don't think the Temp. is going to be an issue down there. I'm going to be heating water, that the primary is sitting in. Sounds like I should get a bucket with an airlock if I plan on using the basement...?

    Damp Nasty Basement

I would say mid to high 50's. There is some mold that you can see that is growing on paper and stuff that has been sitting down there for awhile. I will still brew and sanitize upstairs in the kitchen and then move it downstairs.

    Damp Nasty Basement

OK so my daughter is about to start walking which means my Primary is going to have to find a new home. My "best" option is my 100 year old basement realy nasty down there and cold! My plan was to get rubber maid containers and fill them with water put the fermenters in with an aquarium heater...

    Fridge Shelves..

Ok so I have a "good" beer fridge. Works great nice and roomy...old. The only problem is that there are no shelves and all the "clips" that hold the wire shelves have been broken off. What are my options for making my own shelves in an old old fridge?

    coopers stuck at 1015

Ok, I have another question my sample readings have been stuck around 1015 for over 24 hours now. The OG was 1036 and I thought I wanted to get it down around 1008. Is there anything I should do to get it back going or am I being to impatient? The top foam has started to go down...just a little...
