Northern Brewer is out of centennial!!

thanks guys, I might go local, there are actually a couple inside an hour, I just have to find time to get out there. I guess I did get a little narrow-minded, woops :cross: in terms of the recipe, after reading everyone talk about biermuncher's famous centennial blonde, I knew I needed to try...

Northern Brewer is out of centennial!!

I was trying to plan a brew day with a buddy of mine and I wanted to brew some centennial blonde. My question is can the centennial hop flavor be replicated by their "centennial type" hop. I'm excited because this will be my first AG batch. Any words on this would be much appreciated. thanks :mug:

    traveling with bottle conditioning beer

worst thing (other than broken bottles) that will happen is the sediment gets kicked up depending how it travels. drove 7 hours with some fresh bottles and since they were angled I had a nice sideways yeast cake. all fixed by a few days in the fridge (standing straight up). so :mug:

What is wrong with my beer

+1 on the trying to set aside some bottles of it. You have to rule everything out. I may not be incredibly experienced as a brewer (yet!) but I do know the process of problem solving. before you can fix something you have to find the problem.

under $15.00(plus S&H) picnic tap to stout tap modification

watch out when using CO2 in your tank. Paintball compressed air/nitro tanks are not meant to deal with the liquid left by CO2 when the compression falls or the temperature drops and the gas condenses. the regulators can be finicky. just saying keep an eye out. thats not to say the tank will...

    favorite light?

alright HBT, so my dad found this American Light lager at one of those restaurants that brew their own, and the problem is it's hard to get a growler of it for him, so I was wondering if any of you all have any suggestions for bottles/cans of something for the time in between trips. He likes low...

    1 gallon batches

hey HBT, I am still a relatively new brewer (ive only gotten 2 batches under my belt thus far, not too long ago though) and I want to continue, however i do not have the space to do 5 gallon fermentations. I do however want to play around with 1 gallon batches. what other equipment would I have...

    yeast all right?

thanks for the quick advice. if the yeast is still viable, it wont have any off flavors or anything since it was exposed to the high heat, will it? that's my main concern after whether or not it's actually alive.

    yeast all right?

hello fellow homebrewers. So I ordered a kit from Northern Brewer, it shipped on time perfectly, but unfortunately i couldn't be there to get the package and the box had to sit in my garage over the weekend while the heat was fiery at first (i live in MD). my question is will the yeast in my...

Please help me educate my palate

i haven't had much chance to try many other IPAs, but i endorse the Dogfish IPAs. i like the 60 min a little more in this warmer period between that and the 90 (havent been lucky enough to have had a 120 min). have you tried any wheat beer varieties? hefeweizens or other? ive heard good things...

    non-uniform carbonation

sorry, i was unclear about that, it was a long time ago, but i vaguely remember putting about half in, racking some beer, and then pouring the rest of the sugar mixture in, but idk. yea i mean they still taste good, just the flat ones taste, well, flat (go figure). ah well im doing a northern...

hey there HBT community, so I just got back from an Alaska trip and i've been tasting samples of my first brew, a Brewers Best extract kit for a weizenbier, that i brewed and bottled before departure. it had been bottled jun 10th after i hit the target gravity of 1.013 in a week and it...
