    Cooper's dry yeast temperatures

From my experience I can tell that cooper's yeast is not affected to much by temperature as is it not producing allot of bi-products such as esters or others. Some yeast can tolerate high temps, they produce high levels of bi-products but contribute to a beer style. Belgian and Bavarian yeast...

    wyeast 1007 temp question

These low temp yeasts tend to be a little slow but with an accurate pitch rate and aeration it should complete primary in a week(6-7days). For the secondary, sorry for you but the recommended temps are : start secondary at 75 and decrease to 55 until the secondary is finished. But in your...

Force carbing 2 kegs at same time

The high pressure "shaking trick" will work well to boost the first part of the carbonation, you will always have to stabilize to 12psi or around. The other way yo can do it is far more simple but takes time. Just plug your uncarbed keg to your CO2 line at 12psi, you will be able to pour the...

    Rolled Oats for a Stout

I did this before, once, I did not prepare the rolled oat at all and it did not ruined my beer. But the next time I will boil the oat at least 5min at low boil to gelatinize the grain completly before adding it to the mash or the steeping(for the partial mash brewers). What it did in the beer...

    St. Ambroise Pale Ale

I realy like this beer, high IBU not extreme but high. For the hops used, I'm pretty sure they use cascade for the boil and willamette for the finish but I could be wrong. This ale is realy gold and clear so I recommend a low LVB cristal for an extract recipe.

    Son of Fermenter wiring question

Ok, cut off the conector of the 12v adapter and skin the tip off the wire. You will see that there is another wire(that may be white) inside with nude wire around, twist the nude wire. Identify the nude wire with black colored tape or shrinktube. You result with a two tips wire from the adapter...

    Advice on fermentation chamber build

Very nice cabinet you have. I on a project right now, I converted a mini frigde to a kegerator. Last spring and the following summer we had very hot weather, and I screwed some beers. So I decided to use the cooling power from the fridge to cool a kind of cabinet that will hold many fermentation...

    Custom Conical Fermenter

I agree with all of you, my next improvement will be on a temp. control system but if I had access to tools and knowledge to build a conical, I would go on. I know that conical are good to harvesting yeast and simplify the clearing process and increase the sanitary aspect. And if you can why not...

    IPA aging. Contradictory Information?

I think that most beers are beter a mid age, about 2 month is great because some of young esters mellows and refines. And I think your right about the bitterness, it will reduce slowly but you have to plan it when you target IBU.

turning blood into alcohol (this is a serious thread)

Coagulation should be an obstacle. The idea is not totaly freak, but there must be a way to avoid coagulation, maybe a winelike process with ph control could work, but what kind of sugar you think of. There is very low sugars in blood unless the owner was diabetic.. Wish to be a klingon and...

    Questions on building 1st kegerator

    1. I suggest you to put the tank outside. The reason is, the pressure in the tank will get higher at harm temperature, so you will benefit of more co2 before the tank seems to be empty. And another thing that is good is that you dont have to open the door to adjust your regulator that might be...

    Blower Fan for Kegerator Tower

I think that it would be easier to suck air instead, thats what I'm planing to do by separating the inside of the tower in two with a plastic sheet. Then, I will attach a computer fan to the rear part of the tower and seal it. The fan will be placed in the way to suck air from the channel...

    Unibroue!

My favorite of these is the Don de Dieu, a kind of tripple witbier, and it does not is 9% abv at all, quite refreshing and harming at the time, a good beer. There is also the Quatrecentième (400th) that was brewed for the 400th anniversary of the city of Québec( my home town). A kind of Saison...
