I have a 1.5 gallon batch of cider almost completely fermented and want to secondary it to clear but I only have a 5 gallon carboy available to use.
Would this be ok for secondary?
I've just be kind of last with the whole hobby, I've got alot of money invested, now it's time to invest some time and see if u can make a decent beer.
Haven't brewed beer in over a year, did a few small batches of cider over that time.

I have been back sweetening with concentrate and have had good results.
I use about 1 can per gallon to get the sweetness SWMBO likes.

Yes back sweetened and bottled and when the soda bottle I filled feels like it is properly carbonated, I'll stove top pasteurize like I've done the last half dozen times....

Well the good is I bottled my apple cherry cider today and it turned out great... Finished dry and back sweetened for SWMBO and she said I'm really getting the hang of this cider thing. 😃

I'll have to get a can and conduct the test ASAP.
The cider I have in primary now is @ 1.003 after 8 days.
I expect it to ferment dry and I guess I'll backsweeten quite a bit, maybe to 1.030 to see if that's to get liking.
