I'm gonna try this out. It just sounds better than trying to mess around with all that pumpkin mush in the bag and trying to get it to drain. I'll post pictures and keep this updated later today.

Ok so I'm brewing a sweet stout tomorrow and I want to flavor it with pumpkin. I was told to use a pumpkin pie mix to flavor it. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this. All suggestions would be appreciated

Brewing a stout with my own addition of pumpkin spice, pretty excited haven't brewed a pumpkin beer yet. The key for me is not to over do the pumpkin. I want the pumpkin taste to be subtle.
thanks yeah thats what I ended up doing.. I soaked bottles in oxyiclean for 10hrs (while I was at work) to de-label the bottles. Worked great.. Then I ran them through the dishwasher twice (no soap) just to really clean them.. Then just before bottling I dipped each bottle in a 5 gallon bucket...
I ended up brewing the whole 5 gallons. I felt with it being my first partial mash that I should get the hang of it first before I start manipulating recipes.
So far it is a very active fermentation, I am excited to bottle this beer.
As title says I am doing a Brewers Best partial mash kit this saturday and it's a Holiday Ale.
Now this is a 5 gallon kit and I want to split the kit and make 2.5 gallons. My question is since I am making half the kit do I just split everything in half (grains, malt extract, hops, speciality...
