The last time I brewed and today, my foam never ready broke, even with very heavy boil under foam. Any ideas? nothing really changed in how I brew. Same equip, same crusher.

I am making my first lager on St. Pats day. A pilsner. If I am making 10 gallons, how big of a starter should I make? I have a 2 liter flask. How much DME should I put in? Using WL Pilsner yeast. Thanks.

My blow tubes seem to have a coating inside after I cleaned them. They seem 98% clean. If I soak them in star-san for a while, should they be ok?
I am afraid of foam flowing back into my carboy at some point in bringing something from the tube residue back into the carboy? should I worry?
