Thanks for the feedback. I'll have the ingredients today so will give it a shot. Bubbling away nicely so far; quite a bit of headroom in the conical but I'll be ready with a blowoff tube just in case. :mug:
Started a batch of DIPA last night and stupidly didn't check the ingredient list before starting. After doing the partial mash and stirring in the LME I noticed the DME and corn sugar were missing. I continued the brew session and of course the OG came in low at 1.045 vs expected ~1.080...
Had that happen to a stout once. Had some success by moving the bottles to a warmer location and tipping the bottles to stir up the yeast; trying to reactivate them.
I had that happen before too. The gasket in the lid wasn't sealing well and I thought something was wrong because of lack of airlock bubbles. Finally figured it out like you by taking a SG reading. Got a new bucket and relegated the old one to a bottling bucket. :)
Been homebrewing for about 8 years with mash/extract kits with some additions thrown in the secondary for custom flavors. Starting to ramp up equipment and move to all-grain brewing. Lusting after a BrewSculpture and a conical fermenter. Put them on my wish-list. :D Need to look up the Kansas...
