I have 5 gallons of a porter I want to take 1 gallon out and add a vanilla bourbon flavor. I can't get any fresh vanilla beans from where im from so I have to order them. Could I use vanilla extract instead? If so how would you go about this?
I was wondering if you added your grains and water at room temp. And brought your temp. Up to your mashing temp. If it would have any ill effects on any conversion or taste or effciency
