what would you do? vanilla flavor

I have 5 gallons of a porter I want to take 1 gallon out and add a vanilla bourbon flavor. I can't get any fresh vanilla beans from where im from so I have to order them. Could I use vanilla extract instead? If so how would you go about this?

Um... give me two weeks. I just brewed a Porter and I used vanilla extract for the first time. I will let you know how it comes out.

(I used 6 tablespoons of vanilla extract. That's not much compared to actual vanilla beans but I wanted to go light since I was trying something new.)
