    Tennessee Memphis Area - FastRack

Dude I would gladly take the Grolsch Bottles and Mini Fridge! I'm in Arlington but would gladly travel to you. What part of town are you in?

Glad to hear it turned out well.

    First yeast cake pitch

Never give up... I had a problem with my capper last time I bottled and the two batches I have coming up for bottling are going in flip tops and I'm saving to start up kegging... Look at it as a reason to get more equipment...

Has anyone done an experiment of nibs with active fermentation vs without active... I think you'd get more flavor if you had them during active fermentation. So, WOULD you need to rerack over more nibs??? I actually screwed up last weekend and tried to sanitize with tequila, but it was...

That should work honestly... And if the priming sugar doesn't ferment you'd know the yeast is exhausted and could then toss in a packet of US-05 or something and you'd have peace of mind then.

Right on, mine tend to be like that too...

    Online College Courses

I did my Bachelor's of Science completely online. However, it was in IT/Programming so... Overall, the online thing was a pretty decent experience, gave me time to work fulltime and have a life. I actually graduated in like 3 1/4 years instead of 4. You get good teachers and bad still though i...

My comment was meant as if it's 'too thick' for you at bottling you could try adjusting carbonation to give it a thinner feel. If you like low carb then go as you normally do. I think when you rack to secondary you'll see any extra fermentation that's going to happen if any. The 1.030 is from...

Did you use any recipe software to calculate a FG? 1.030 seems high but a pound of lactose or other un-fermentables could be the culprit. Racking it onto nibs will rouse dormant yeast also, so you may see activity kick up a small amount and finish out drier. I wouldn't do any extra things like...

    A little pissed off...

I've had beers finish in that amount of time but I second Pappers and LLBeanJ... If you bring the temps back up and give the fermenter a nice swirl you'll see more activity if the yeast needs to pick back up. They won't have died or anything. And no it won't effect your carbonating unless you've...

    So I did a thing...

I think Ed's Haus Pale would be a tasty one as well... Maybe Cheese's Caramel Vanilla Cream Ale for the ladies... Somehow my beers tend 7-9% ABV so I need to get some smaller beers made for those that aren't as... ahem... heavy as I.

    So I did a thing...

I just got back in to home brewing and it seems like there was always a post of someone that made it and now not so much, I guess I assumed, lol. I believe when I finally get a kegging system I'm going to do BM's centennial blonde.

    So I did a thing...

Who remembers EdWort's Apfelwein? I remember way back when it was all the rage and I remember my version didn't turn out. Well, I got a wild hair and decided to try again. This time I found that Kroger sells 100% HoneyCrisp applejuice from concentrate, unfiltered... Sure enough the ingredients...
