    safbrew t-58, how much to use?

    No, He was talking about ales. At the end of the article he talks about how lagers use twice as much yeast then ales. Yeah, i'm sure i'll be alright with 2 packs. The yrasts website says it's made for high abv brews from 8.5-12.5%. Thnx for the advice.

    safbrew t-58, how much to use?

    K, I just realized I made it more complicated then it is. Fermentis' website says there are 60 billion yeast cells per packet. The byo magazine says I need around 500 billion for a brew with an OG of 1.080. So I should need 8 packets. Does that sound like way too much?

    safbrew t-58, how much to use?

    I am brewing a 5 gal batch, chili rye iipa with an OG around 1.080 and an abv around 7.7%. My original plan was to make a starter with 1 pack of safbrew t-58 and pitch another pack in the primary. most accurate online recipe calculator?

    Wow, hopville was spot on with what the recipe says the OG should be when set at 5.2 batch size! The only problem I have with it is that it has the IBU's really low (around 32). I was hoping it would be around 60-70... here's the recipe: Northern brewers Denny's wry smile rye 5.2 gal...

    using rye flakes?

    I'm not sure what the corn sugars for, it's in the kit and the recipe tells me to put it in at the beginning of the boil with the first addition of the malts. I am making northern brewer's Denny's wry smile rye ipa. I want it to be cloudy so I'm adding 1 lb of rye flakes and I have a couple question about it... will using rye flakes give me the cloudy effect I'm after? Is it ok to just steep the flakes with the other specialty grains and if not, what...
