For Sale Propane RIMS w keggles

Pictures attached to this post. I built this system about 10 years ago and haven't used it much lately. Since they're keggles you can easily do 10 gallon brews, which is what I did. For the mash tun I used reflectx to insulate it, and over an hour it would lose only 1-2 degrees (but you can use...

    1 yeast pack - 2 brews

Thank you!! I'll follow your method of making a big starter and pitching 2/3 (maybe 3/4) and saving the rest. Take care!

    1 yeast pack - 2 brews

That's an approach I forgot about. What's your preferred way to store it? Mason jar in the fridge?

    1 yeast pack - 2 brews

I have enough supplies for 2x 10gal batches of a brew. If the first comes out good, I have little doubt I'll brew a second. I only have 1 yeast pack (wlp530). What's the appropriate way to do 2 batches, separated by 5 weeks? Do I take the factory pack, only use half (sealing the package w...

    Fly sparge equipment

Wow. So much information in your post. Thank you for taking time to share so much in one post! I'm glad I haven't bought anything yet. Upon my very brief read to low oxygen brewing, I'm definitely intrigued. Yes, MKII is what I have. Thanks for refreshing my memory. Thank you!!

    Fly sparge equipment

Getting back into brewing after a 7 years hiatus. Brewed 2nd batch today in a month and ran into a stuck sparge. I've always batch sparged due to the $ I put into my single tiered RIMMS system. I was broke by the time I got to brewing. But now that I'm back at it, I might as well throw some...

moving homebrewing equipment from US to Europe

When I moved overseas I wasn't allowed to bring any compressed canisters, even if they're empty. Ditch the 110v-only electrical stuff, unless you have a lot of money invested in the device, and will not keep it turned on that much. So, goodbye kegerator, unless it's dual voltage. You can...

    Blichmann 14.5 conical gasket

Hi, Getting back into brewing after a 7yr hiatus. I replaced the aged gaskets on my corny kegs and think it's about time to do the same on my aforementioned conical. For the big gasket that goes between the conical part and the top, I am only finding gaskets that cost $30+. Is this for real...

    Tap mount to wood bar

You're right. There's a gasket there already. It's super undersized (thickness). I have another on hand and will double it up to protect the wood. Thanks again!

    Tap mount to wood bar

Cool deal. I very much appreciate your input!

    Tap mount to wood bar

Thanks, I'll double check the bottom of the tap. I was thinking that it would be good to have some kind of additional insulation material between the cooler metal tap and the wood bar top. It would also reduce air leakage (I already have a tower cooler). Thanks for your reply!

    Tap mount to wood bar

I have a double tap that I'm going to mount to a butcher block bar that I built. What's the best way to mount this? I plan on using a generic gasket that will go between the metal tap and wood bar. Is this the right thing to do? Thanks

    Youngs DCS Chocolate question

Hi everybody, I got a Youngs Double Chocolate Stout recipe from Brew Magazine and brewed it. Now its time to add Chocolate extract from Brewers Best to my secondary. The recipe calls for .33oz per 5 gallon batch. Is this fluid oz or weight oz? The bottle of extract says 4-5floz per 5 gallons...

    CO2 to lager in kegs

No, it had plenty of time in the primary and secondary. I think it was 3 weeks in primary, one week of diacytl rest, and two weeks @ 34 degrees. Then keg. So I can apply C02? Thanks
