    WLP300 Hefeweizen yeast

Has anyone used this? I pitched last night at 5pm and just had to put in a blowoff hose because the airlock literally blew off in my face. It’s fermenting at 72 degrees which it said was in the yeasts tolerance range. Has anyone used this before and what’re your experiences?

    Too hot/too high abv?

So to start, I am making a 5 gallon batch of cider with 1 cup brown sugar added and using Fermentis SafCider yeast and it’s been fermenting at about 72 degrees. I tested it on Monday (2/10) and the abv was sitting at about 6.8% so I figured it test again today (Wednesday 2/12) and it’s gone up...

    Hops for Hefe

So I’m building a recipe for a coconut Hefe after this current batch of Peach basil cider is done. I’ve read that Cashmere hops have a coconut note to them and give a mild, smooth bitterness when used as buttering hops. Has anyone used Cashmere in a Hefe or would I be better off sticking to the...
