Have you used your chiller setup? Is it working out well?

The only experience I have had with a leaking corny lid was solved by swapping with the lid from a different keg. I suspect the lid had been swapped around sometime in the past and the one it ended up with didn't seat quite right. Is this happening on all of your kegs or just a couple?

have a microcenter near you? you used to be able to buy them there in person. haven’t been in a while though

I’m wondering if ice built up around the sides inside the fermenter and slowed the heat transfer. Did you you take a peak inside the vessel while this was happening? I might try raising the reservoir temperature closer to the freezing point. Maybe -2C.

I lost AHS as my local store (less than 5 miles away) so that has sucked. couldn’t believe they didn’t keep a southern hub for shipping from. I just use morebeer now for most of my purchases. it’s hard to buy any liquid yeast, though. :/

What I do is run normal tap water through the chiller as fast as it can go and once the wort temp is down below 130 or so switch over to running the ice water through.

I’m currently using an old single door fridge (maybe 15 cu ft?) I got for free from a friend. but I used to use a chest freezer as well. it’s nice to not have to lift the bucket quite as far anymore and to be able to easily grab a sample. craigslist often has all kinds of refrigerators for sale...
