that's nice but that won't do because when you go to take it out the negative pressure will force air into the beer i believe. i am looking for a more neutral pressure system in the carboy it's self.

So I like to cold crash my beer but it gets oxygenated when doing so. I was wondering if anyone had come up with a way to slowly feed CO2 into the carboy as it crashed to prevent oxygen from getting to the beer.

i have been brewing 10 gallon batches for years and am looking at going from carboy to getting a Ss Brewing Technologies 14 Gallon Chronical Stainless Steel Fermenter, but i can get the 17 gallon one for about 150 less used.

i never whirlpool and my wart flows clear and cold crash it's even better. i think if you like it do it if not don't. I really don't think with a false bottom it's necessary.

what calculation did you use to come up with the 50' coil you are going to use.

I will be using procaine to heat my strike water, sparge and boil but through my HERMS I will be using a 120V 15A water heater element so that is why i call it a hybrid system as i am not all propane or all electric.
The reason i am not all electric is that i am renting and don't have 240V 30A...
