I live in the Willamette valley witch is the second largest producer of Hops in the nation, just behind Washington and ahead of Idaho. :mug:

I am currently working on my first hybrid HERMS system.

Cheers all

Welcome from Bend! Care to provide any details on your brewing setup? What exactly is a "hybrid HERMS" system?

I will be using procaine to heat my strike water, sparge and boil but through my HERMS I will be using a 120V 15A water heater element so that is why i call it a hybrid system as i am not all propane or all electric.

The reason i am not all electric is that i am renting and don't have 240V 30A where i brew.

I got my bottom drain kit Saturday for my new mash tun from Brewhardware one of the sponsors here and my new keg stand from Amazon and in august i will be ordering my false bottom from NorCal, i believe they are a sponsor here as well. All said my mash tun will cost me around 240.00 wow that's more then i was thinking, but wait it will be more because i have to weld in 2 1/2" threaded nipples and add valves and a thermometer. so more around 300 dollars.

dam i think i have lost my mind.:smack
