Does anyone know if the yeast sediment in the bottle is the same strain that this beer is fermented with?

I have heard that some wheat beers will be bottle conditioned with a lager strain.

Was interested in harvesting some yeast from the bottle and propagating it for my own wheat beer recipe, but wouldn't do it if the bottle sediment is a is a different strain.

Give it a shot and see what it tastes like. It should be apparent after a few steps over a few days if this is indeed something worth keeping. If its something that you think is neat, then go for it. I think it's interesting and I like to harvest from bottles just to see what comes out. However, for the most part its almost always better to buy a commercial yeast since you get a known healthy, extraneous microorganism free, strain that will produce the results you want. There are some exceptions to this, like beers that you simply cannot buy a strain for like the Fat Tire yeast. I don't like Fat Tire, but it's popularity is undisputed. This is one example where its worth doing.

When you figure what you've invested in time and ingredient cost for a batch, it would be a shame to have an otherwise perfect weizenbock or whatever that tastes like a hot fermented lager.

There's one big list of bottle conditioned beers that keeps getting reposted on various forums that says yes, you can harvest A Yeast from this beer, but no indication if its The Yeast you want.

A few "no" votes on harvesting from this beer:

Yeah, the point you make in your second para is what keeps me from trying it.

Guess that why I was hoping to find someone who had been down this path before.

I really enjoy the flavor profile of the Franziskaner weissbier, and obviously there is more than just the yeast strain to consider when trying to brew a reasonable clone.
