yeast starter

I am getting ready to make my first AG. The recipe calls for a yeast starter. I'm pretty clear on how this goes, but please don't call me a *******. At least no too many times. What is DME. The starter calls for Extra Light DME. Could someone help me out. I'm getting thirsty here. lol

DME is dry malt extract but typically only used in extract recipes.

Oh duh yeah it is used in starters as well. You can pick up a bag of dme at your brew store or online. It's just powdered extract.

Thanks a lot. Now I can get started and see how my first A/G turns out. I probably won't start until next weekend, but I'm looking forward to it now.
