I made a starter yesterday for my English Barleywine that is boiling as we speak. This is my first really big brew, so I decided to throw in a 7g packet of coopers yeast that I got with my very first kit about a year and a half ago. Being lazy, I boiled in my flask, and I tossed the coopers yeast in for boiling to give my WLP002 English Ale yeast something more to much on. However, some of the coopers yeast got stuck towards the top of the flask, and I'm worried that it will 'infect' my good yeast. I did boil it for 15 minutes, and I had some tin foil covering it for the last 5.
Is the coopers completely killed off, or do I need to toss it and get another one going ASAP?
Thanks!
