I've never harvested from a bottle before but here I sit, drinking an Ommegang Abbey Dubbel and thinking I need to brew another Belgian besides Saison.

Is the Abbey Dubbel yeast worth growing up from the bottle, or is this strain available in White Labs already? Where would I generally get that info in the future? Ommegang website says it's a house yeast.

:mug:

Also, I typically make a starter from 2cups water/half cup DME. How should I start and grow this yeast?

There are lots of good yeast varieties available in liquid form from Belgian breweries, Chimay (500), DuPont (Wy3787?), Westmalle (530), Orval, Duvel. Save the effort and get a professionally prepared product.
