Hi All -

I have read about this hop and and am extremely curious about it.

It seems to be an IPA waiting to happen, yet I am not sure what exactly to do with it.

My thought were to use it as primarily boil additions with smaller additions in whirlpool and dry hop with the bulk of the after boil stuff being Citra/Mosaic.

Has anyone used X331? If so, what are your thoughts?

I'm interested in trying it but have way to much hops and not enough time right now.
How much do you have? I would be inclined to bitter with ctz or maybe Apollo. Maybe tossing in a bit more ctz in the 20 min addition. Seems like this hop is less citrus and more dank, so I would dank it up. Just my personal tastes.

I read the post, but was hoping for more evaluation than commentary.

For 5 gal batch of IPA - was thinking this
Boíl additions
.75 oz apollo @ 60
.75 oz Columbus @ 20
2 oz X331 @ 2

Whirlpool for 20 min at 160°F
2 oz Citra
2 oz Mosaic
1 oz X331

Dry Hop 5 days
2 oz Citra
2 oz Mosaic
1 oz X331

That hop schedule looks good for them. I've been doing an awesome IPA using the X331 in FW, WP and lots of DH. It's an amazing hop. Great aroma and flavor in the beer. 5 gallons only will last 5 days when my buddies get a hold of it.
