Hi, I had a Wyeast Propogator ready to blow and I didn't have the two cups of DME available to make my yeast starter. I substituded 1 cup LME and 1 Cup dextrose....? Think it will be ok, for yeast starter???

The conventional wisdom is to not use simple sugars in a starter.
I would have used all LME and omitted the dextrose.
While not ideal, I think you will probably be OK.
How big a starter did you make?

2 - Quart! Well, it is bubbling, how well it performs is another thing, I guess. I will move forward, anyway. I will come back to this thread and post results. It is in a Irish Stout. So l my LME is dark, kinda funny looking starter, aye?

Thanks again, for the reply dzlater and the vote of confidence.
