I'm brewing a West Coast style IPA today. The OG will be ~ 1.070. I have three choices for yeast.
#1. 12oz bottle of slurry that I bottled and capped when I bottled my last batch of Pale Ale which was ~ !.050 using WLP 001. It has been in the fridge for two weeks now.
#2 A fresh vial of WLP 001 as a direct pitch. (no starter) because I didn't plan ahead.
#3 1 Pkg of US-05
Which would you choose and why?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

#1 because they are all basically the same chico strain and it will have enough yeast for the gravity of the beer.

#2 is not nearly enough yeast for that beer
#3 is also not quite enough yeast, plus it's known to be the same chico strain

#3 is much closer to the proper amount of yeast than #2. I'd also go with #1, just to use it up.
