Interesting that there aren't more IT people here. I have an MIS degree and do general IT work. Support, administration, software/web development.

MIS Degree here as well, but I work in Cable Sales (voice, data, audio/video). I should have picked a degree a little more in tune with my local economy. But hey, I was only 18... What did I know?

Guess I am the opposite. Aviation Degree and work in IT. After 20+ years on the flightline I decided it was time for climate control and more money.

Have you made it up to Grapes and Grain in Greenville for their monthly get together of homebrewers?

Oh yeah, a few of my friends and one of the professors in my department brews, but they live in Pickens County, so I guess they don't count.

I hadn't heard about Grapes and Grains, I have heard that Wolf Creek Brewery south of Greenville hosts a group of local hobbyists, I've received a few email newsletters from them. Been meaning to visit the brewery — I guess they sell some supplies to the hobbyist brewer — but getting to Greenville is a bit of a pain in the ass as far as I'm concerned. Happy brewing!

I was an Armored Vehicle Repairman in Iraq before I got sick. No correlation between brewer and wrench turner here. I have been a plant maintenance foreman in a concrete plant, a wrecker mechanic and finally did the armored deal in Mosul northern Iraq. The contract to go over there failed to mention that it is a dry country and that any form of alcohol would get you fired, but I managed to survive for nearly 2 years before I caught a nasty infection that wiped out my aorta and kidneys. Vacations to Thailand were spent easing the head ache from no alcohol and scuba diving the Andaman Sea. What a blast, it is the most fun you can have with your clothes on although brewing has become a close second since I started playing with the idea and doing some very limited testing. No kidneys means I can only drink about one liter a day, so it has to be good from the first drop to be a worthwhile endeavour. So far no complaints, other than the limited quantites but that is a subject for another day. Lessen ze luft!!!

I am a professional video producer. I have done TV commercials, music videos, web series videos, athlete profiles, tutorials, event coverage, and everything else under the sun. Before you ask, no I haven't shot any porn. I've had the privilege to work with people like Bobcat Goldthwait, Greg Warren (comedian), Drama (from Rob & Big on MTV), and many more.

I also do some occasional web work as well.
