By "bad batch," do you mean an infected beer or a bad tasting beer? If the beer is infected there is nothing that can be done, it should be dumped. If the beer is bad it might result in the magnification of certain flaws, for example diacetyl. If something is bad, it's bad and it may be hard to fix it but it's not worth the trouble most of the time. You can't make a good eisbock out of a flawed bock.

Because it would suck. And we don't talk about distilling here.
