I tried for a red but what would you think this would be. It is for a homebrew club iron brew an I think it would help if I called the right style.

Hello my name is Drizzt and I have a brewing addiction.

Perhaps a BJCP judge could tell you best, but considering your hop profile it almost certainly excludes many styles other than the pale ales. If I had to guess I'd say an APA.

I'd guess Specialty Beer category with the Juniper berries in there, but maybe an american amber base....really depends on how it tastes :)

well the fruit makes it a 20A Fruit Beer and I'd say if you had to state your base beer, American Amber 10B....but if you can't taste the juniper, disregard my advice

Beer competitions can be a fickle, unpredictable whore. Don't get discouraged

Lucky for me the competition is just for my homebrew club only about 20 entries. I am very happy if I get beer I can drink each time I brew.

The 8 oz of c120 will make it pretty dark like an amber or brown ale. This looks like a really good tasting beer that probably won't score well since it doesn't match a style well.

Unfortunately I already brewed it but at least now I know to call it an Amber instead of a red. The comp is next Thursday night I will update everyone on how I did. Thanks for the help.

I definitely wouldn't do fruit beer -- juniper berries are neither a berry nor a fruit, despite the name, and their flavor isn't fruity at all. Specialty sounds like the way to go, assuming the juniper is noticeable.

Could do 21A Spiced and label it "spiced with juniper".... but again the flavor would have to really come through

Thank you all for your help it turned out to be a blind contest with no styles involved and I placed 6th ..... Out of 11 people. I am very happy with my place thanks again.
