The sheer muscle mass..
A lot of them do, most of my favorite ones can just pull me in no matter where in the movie I discover it, but the weirdest one has to be the Kennau Reeves, Gene Hackman movie about a cobbled together pro-football team during an NFL strike,
It's gotta be one of the silliest movies out there, the sports radio station I listen too just absolutely loathes it, and won't even call it a sports movie. But I just get sucked into the whole buddy movie concept of all the goofball characters they recruited, like the Sumo wrestler, the chainsmoking (on the field even) soccer player as kicker, the "ganstas" and the deaf player, and how they all come together to be a winning team.
And the stripper cheerleaders don't hurt either.

I can turn it on anywhere, and end up totally drawn into it. Crap, I think I need to watch it now...
based on the '87 Redskins, so +1000 for Revvy!
Tony Robinson -- the QB that relieved Ed Rubbert and beat Dallas in the 3rd game of the strike, was on work release from prison at the time and was the inspiration for the ex-con DB in The Replacements.

Aliens! Game over man! It is the reason I decided to work in the movie business. Still my fav after all these years. It has a nice slow burn like a cigar. Then once **** hits the fan, it doesn't let up. Great story, perfect sequel, great score, great actors, wonderful suspense, and top notch sound and editing. If you ever get to see it on the big screen, it's one of the loudest films ever made.
