Hey all.
I recently picked up a bunch of equipment 2nd hand and this was in the stuff. Have no idea what it is.
It looks like a hydrometer or thermometer, but counts to 3.
Anyone?

It looks to be a Celsius thermometer, however, the fluid in the center segment appears to have separated and unless it recombines it will render the device useless

Could be wrong but I think it tells you the amount of alcohol in the finished product almost like a vinator does. I believe they only work for wine though.

P.s - it counts in increments of 10's not to 3

looks like a brix scale hydrometer.

its for wine, it won't work for beer.
the chain should be long enough to hang it in a carboy or barrel and pull it out.

Thanks everyone. I love that I have 3 different ideas as to what it is. At least I have a base to start googling
