Enjoying Sunday afternoon with a growler of The Weight from Piece Brewery!! I went and saw the Book of Mormon play in Chicago yesterday and made it a point on the way out of the loop to stop there and grab a growler of the Weight which is a great APA. It wont the silver medal last year. Cheers to a great tasting beer on a sunday afternoon!!!

I was saving this to do a side by side comparison of my 2 Hearted (as close as it gets) clone. That keg blew in less than 2 weeks and I kept forgetting to do the side by side.

What is your recipe? I've done a few Dead Ringers and they are close but not the same. It's all good though.

Having a Half Acre Daisy Cutter, bought a case of it and a case of Celebration for New Year's in case folks didn't like the beers I had on tap. I now have a case of Celebration and a case of Daisy Cutter minus 2 cans to drink. It's a hard life.

It's eschatz Bell's Two Hearted (as close as the come) from this site. (On my phone, can't figure out how to link it) Great recipe, I dry hopped it with 2012 Centennial leaf the day it came in, the aroma was insane. It didn't nail Two Hearted completely, but I would chose the clone over the real one.

Hop Rod Rye. Hoppy rye's have been really testing the tensile strength of my zippers lately. I've been playing around with a recipe for a hoppy rye with a pinch of chocolate rye malt, I'm going to try it out in a couple of weeks.

One of Yoopers Oatmeal Stout. It really needed the 4 weeks bottle conditioning and now... OMG what a nice stout. So easy to drink these...

I keep seeing that posted here and been hearing real good things about it. Sounds like I need to look into getting me some of that and other Cigar City brews. Anyone down for a trade?

I'm down to trade. Cigar City is a great brewery with a ton of seasonals.

It's a little chunky. pm me and we can set something up. Cigar city gets great reviews from beer nerds (beer advocate and ratebeer) as does Terrapin, which has a ton of great beers also.

I'm drinking Maple Bacon infused bourbon, made with the drippings from my first attempt at curing my own bacon. Which was a Maple Bourbon Bacon. So you could say I decided to re-use the byproducts of my bacon making.

I'll be posting a thread on my bacon, and one on my bourbon infusing experiments this week, but here's a couple pics.

The gear.

Put it in the freezer it overnight with 2 cups of bourbon, a piece of the bacon rind, and a tablespoon of maple syrup to infuse it. The fad seperated and formed a cap on top.

Strained it about 6 times through various sized strainers and filters.

Topped it off with about 6 ounces of fresh bourbon in a bottle. Even diluted it is darker than it's base liquor.

thats 3-D ? Yeah, get out your 3-D glasses it is. Im still in 2 dimention though. Some may be in 6-D. Wish I could make my homebrew do that.

I had a Flanders Red, and had no other sours or Belgian beers to move on to, and I didn't want a heavier beer. So I'm having Pacifico. It's not bad at all.
