Sampled some fresh roasted coffee I picked up this week. Got some cold brew going to add to my brown ale at bottling this weekend, hopefully.

Also cooking up some rice...

After a complete s*** night I'm drinking water and going to sleep. At least it's almost the weekend where many, many beers will be consumed :D

Hah.. I was having a beer during the salt rest prior to it lightly kissing the grill. Damn that was a good steak. Kinda makes me tear up just thinking about it... I miss it and it's wonderful flavor. :(

True, I had no lox, so instead went for the green onioney cream cheese. It hit the spot. The coffee was crap, but i had no hot water source to use my french press so what can you do? Gotta love cafeteria offerings, no?

i wanna do a brew this weekend- got the grain but not much hops on hand except for about a 1/2 lb each of nugget and fuggles i have had in the freezer for about 2 years. Can i make something with these? are they too old to use? i have about 12lbs of 2row and some carapils and munich... im thinking of mashing low and bittering with 1oz of nugget and whirlpooling with the rest of the nugget and fuggle for ***** and giggles. maybe save an oz of each to dry hop with

Like pretty much anything else, give em a sniff and see if you really would want to put it in your mouth. If the hops dont smell cheesy or soapy or just plain gross go for it.


Too many people are passing away recently. My condolences on the loss of your aunt. I also have a funeral to go to tomorrow. Not family, but still a good friend of the family.

And back on topic. A coke. With some work cafeteria bulgogi (surprisingly not bad either).
 
On the way to Bells before the next hotel. Ugh got sooooo hammered at Dark Horse last night. Meeting Nizzle at Bells tonight.........this is gonna be one for the books kids!!!
 
At Bells having Roundhouse IRA. Man I hate Larry Bells politics and small brewery hating, but goddamn this a**hole makes fantastic beer. This is better than Two Hearted hands down.

Just finished a fantastic 4squared. Damn that was good. And I moved on to try the 2014 whole cone IIPA from SN.

The joys of working from home and being kid free today. Now only if the workday would end so I could go down to the pool to enjoy my beer with a cigar.

Just washed up the motorcycle. There is a rumbly motorcycle event in dc this weekend. She really needed a bath badly and im enjoying a teo hearted. Hold that, I need to take a trip to the brew shop so I can make beer this weekend. So. I have had one heart, I will save the second one for when I get back.
 
Is Pointcity around? I did some shopping today. Want to know what I bought or do like surprises?

Finsfan, you are overly polite. I just tried another of my SMaSH Pales and it is still just rancid. But at least you agree in the off flavor, right? Astringency? I'm going to really focus on mash pH tomorrow when I brew...but my grain bill will also be more acidic, which will help out some.

Having a Molson XXX at the hotel before a nap. Popped this before the beer, anyone had these? Cascade flavored and delicious!!!
