Hi. I have a nice 4 gallon stock pot and a weldless ball valve. I would like a little advice on how high up to drill. I'd still like to use interior attachments and not lose to much wort
 
Greetings, @Dichotomy evopro! And welcome to the forums! :mug:

First criteria is to make sure the largest diameter part of the installation doesn't ride on any part of the sidewall-to-bottom kettle curvature. That might be a large flat washer under a locking nut, and in some cases both might go inside the kettle, so don't get bit by that one :)

Beyond that, knowing the dip tube geometry is obviously important, and most likely will set the actual valve elevation. Indeed I'd want all of the parts in hand before making a hole....
