Does anyone have a tried and true Mackeson's Triple all grain recipe? There are several here and others posted elsewhere but none claim to be a spot-on clone.

Here's the 1936 version: http://barclayperkins.blogspot.com/2010/10/lets-brew-wednesday-1936-mackeson-stout.html

It's about 4.5% ABV, versus the 4.9% of the current export version. So maybe add another pound of base malt, or hope for better attenuation from your yeast.

I've brewed that recipe and I've had my friend's version of this one http://barclayperkins.blogspot.com/2010/11/lets-brew-wednesday-1952-mackeson-stout.html Using modern malt and yeast you will definitely have better attenuation. If I was to brew again, I'd do an "inspired by" version of the 1952 recipe, skipping the cane sugar, probably sub in blackstrap for the No3 invert and would definitely add something to get the colour up into the black (carafa sp or midnight wheat). I used baird's 500L chocolate on the 1936 and it wasn't quite dark enough and the 1952 is brown without a colour adjustment.

Thank you for the links! While I have never had the opportunity to taste the 1936 or 1952 versions :) :) how would they compare to what they were bottling in the late 2000's?

Are there other versions on that board? I searched but did not find any.
